Plateau Massacre: Invaders Issue Threats of Fresh Attacks as UN Demands Investigation

In a chilling turn of events, invaders have issued a fresh threat to the Pushit community in Plateau State, just days after a horrifying massacre claimed the lives of 195 people across 17 communities. The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Middle Belt Forum, Stanley Kavwam, revealed that terrorists sent a letter announcing an imminent attack.

Despite acknowledging the threat, the Police Public Relations Officer, Alabo Alfred, assured that intelligence was being actively pursued. Terrified residents of Pushit confirmed their awareness of the threat, expressing sleepless nights in fear of the looming danger.

As the situation intensifies, villagers are pleading with the government for urgent intervention. A resident stated, "Please help us tell the government and the security agents to come to our rescue. They should act quickly to save lives and not take the threat for granted."

The shocking revelation coincides with the United Nations' call for a thorough investigation into the Christmas Eve massacre, where 195 lives were lost and over 10,000 people were displaced. Displaced individuals are seeking refuge in churches, mosques, schools, and private residences.

The Chairman of Community Peace Observers in the Bokkos Local Government Area, Kefas Mallai, reported over 150 additional casualties, highlighting ongoing attacks and the displacement of thousands. The state Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, admitted flaws in the security architecture, emphasizing the need for corrective measures.

President Bola Tinubu condemned the attacks, ordering a manhunt for the perpetrators. However, Middle Belt Forum's Kavwam raised alarming claims, stating that the military was aware of the attackers' identities and their hideouts before the Christmas Eve tragedy. He criticized the lack of action despite receiving 37 distress calls during the attacks.

The situation remains critical as the Pushit community braces for a potential assault on December 29. The call for swift government and security intervention echoes loudly, demanding immediate action to prevent further loss of lives in Plateau State.
