Prof. Awodun and the Transformation of Kwara South

Prof. Awodun and the Transformation of Kwara South

We are tired of politicians who remember young people only when they need a crowd, or an election win. We’re tired of leaders who use our energy to build their ambitions instead of our future. What we need are leaders who truly care about progress; ours and that of our communities.

That is why conversations around Prof. Muritala Awodun feel different. He is not the regular politician who shows up every four years with promises that vanish after elections.

He is a teacher, a mentor, and a thinker who has spent years proving that leadership can be about service, not self-interest.

Those who know his work know he’s not waiting for power to make an impact. Through the Muritala Awodun Initiative for Community Development (MAICD) and the Kwara South Agenda, he’s already empowering people, creating awareness, and building structures that can actually move Kwara South forward.

The truth is, Kwara South and Kwara in general needs a shift. We need leaders who see youths as partners in development, not pawns in political games. We need people who will open doors, not gatekeep opportunities.

Prof. Awodun represents that change. He believes in knowledge, inclusion, and empowerment. His kind of leadership makes you believe again that government can actually work for the people.

Supporting him isn’t about party lines or political sentiment. It’s about choosing the kind of leadership that builds, not divides. It’s about saying we’ve had enough of recycled excuses and we’re ready for results.

We keep saying the future belongs to the youth but that future won’t come if we keep backing those who use us instead of helping us grow.

Prof. Awodun stands for a vision where young people have a voice, where ideas matter, and where progress is real.

For the greater good of Kwara South and Kwara as a whole, it’s time we rally behind people like him. Leaders who are ready to progress our lives and not ride on our backs.
