Muritala Awodun Vanguards Reaffirm Commitment to Grassroots Empowerment and Kwara South Development

The Muritala Awodun Vanguards, the mobilization arm of the Muritala Awodun Initiative for Community Development (MA-InCoDe) held their 7th meeting on Friday, October 24, 2025, with Prof. Muritala Awodun, the founder of MA-InCoDe and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kwara South Senatorial aspirant, to review progress and chart the way forward on the ongoing community development programs.

The MAVanguards whose registered members across the senatorial district has crossed the 1,000 mark, had participants that attended the meeting drawn from across the senatorial district.

The meeting focused on strengthening grassroots networking and deepening youth empowerment to sustain the vision of inclusive community development.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Awodun appreciated members for their loyalty and steadfastness despite the recent break that enabled us focus on political activities held in the last month.

He explained that the delay in convening the 7th meeting was due to the recently concluded PDP congresses and prevailing security concerns across parts of Kwara South which was of great concern to all.

“I remain deeply grateful for the resilience and unwavering commitment of the Vanguards,” Prof. Awodun stated. “Our mission goes beyond politics, it is a community-driven movement to empower, transform, and uplift Kwara South.”

During the session, Prof. Awodun announced the completion of the official registration of the Muritala Awodun Initiative for Community Development (MA-InCoDe), which now provides a formal structure for all related programs, including the Muritala Awodun Vanguards and other development-focused projects.

He also highlighted the successful launch of the Kwara South Youth Rebirth Program on October 1, 2025 with the first batch of 55 Kwara South Youth progressing significantly in their training.

According to him, the second batch will be contacted soon, in the coming month, providing another opportunity for youth across the senatorial district to benefit from the training in enterprise creation and leadership to complete the target of 200 youth in the first year.

Unveiling the long-term plan, Prof. Awodun shared the Initiative’s ambitious goal of creating 1,000 enterprises in five years, each to be led by trained youth entrepreneurs between the ages of 21 and 40 as advertised.

“If each enterprise empowers twenty others, we will create at least twenty thousand jobs across Kwara South with this program,” he said. “This vision is not entirely tied to holding any political position, hence, it has been structured to continue whether or not I hold political office, though public office would help scale it up faster and further.”

Addressing grassroots engagement, Prof. Awodun urged all members to remain politically and socially active by validating their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) and encouraging others to do the same.

“The strength of our movement lies in participation,” he emphasized. “We must individually play our part in shaping the future we envision for our communities.”

In closing, Prof. Awodun commended the Vanguards for their continued commitment and prayed for their collective success. He reiterated that MA-InCoDe remains dedicated to fostering inclusive growth, youth empowerment, and sustainable development across Kwara South.

“Our agenda is simple: to build a community of purpose, progress, and prosperity. That is the true meaning of service,” he concluded.
