The Nasarawa State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the abduction of Safiyanu Isa-Andaha, the Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area. Gunmen seized Isa-Andaha and another individual in Ningo village of Akwanga LG around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, according to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer.
Commissioner of Police Umar Nadada has directed the mobilization of personnel to track down the culprits and secure the release of the kidnapped chairman and the accompanying victim. The police, in collaboration with other security agencies, are actively pursuing the kidnappers.
Nansel urged the public, particularly residents of villages in the area, to provide valuable information to assist in the rescue operation and the apprehension of those responsible for the abduction.
This incident follows the kidnapping of Safiyanu Isa-Andaha and a local resident, Adamu Custom, along Andaha-Akwanga Road in Ningo village on Monday night.
