Wike & Tinubu Unite Against Soaring Insecurity

In the face of escalating insecurity in Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu has pledged unwavering commitment to eradicating threats, including Boko Haram, Ansaru militants, bandits, and kidnapping gangs. Speaking at a book launch, Tinubu highlighted the challenging landscape inherited from his predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari.

"We will not rest until every agent of darkness is completely eliminated. It's a sovereign country," Tinubu emphasized, addressing the persistent security challenges faced during Buhari's tenure.

Simultaneously, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike took decisive action by convening an emergency security meeting to address the increasing wave of banditry and kidnapping in Bwari Area Council and other parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

Wike assured residents, "We are not sleeping; security also is not sleeping. We will give every support that they require to take away the fears of the citizens or residents."

Expressing concern over the resurgence of attacks, Wike warned area council chairmen against unnecessary trips and urged them to remain vigilant in their respective areas.

On a parallel front, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun conducted a meeting with tactical squad and task force commanders. The focus was on coordinating intensified operations against criminal activities, particularly the recent incidents of abduction in the FCT and other parts of the country.

"The IGP expressed deep concern over the unfortunate events and emphasized the need for decisive action to curb such heinous crimes," stated ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer.

In Kaduna, Governor Uba Sani summoned traditional rulers and stakeholders for an emergency security meeting, addressing the resurgence of banditry and security challenges in the state.

"Bandits and terrorists have exploited gaps... to carry out ambushes on citizens and security forces attempting to respond to distress calls," Governor Uba Sani remarked, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to enhance security.

As leaders unite against the looming threats, the nation anticipates a collective and strategic approach to secure its citizens and restore peace.
